Dating is one of life's most intricate dances, no matter what stage of life you're in. For Jane Seymour, it's a topic she knows all too well — and she recently shared her personal journey of finding love in her 60s. It’s not just about swiping right; it’s about navigating the complexities of modern relationships at a time when many might think it’s too late to start over.
At 68 years old, Jane Seymour isn’t just an icon on screen; she’s a real person dealing with real-life challenges. During a recent appearance at The Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television’s Comedy Legends on November 21, she spoke candidly about her role in the Netflix hit series The Kominsky Method. The show delves into the lives of two older individuals rediscovering love and romance in today’s dating world. But for Jane, this storyline hits close to home.

Rediscovering Love After 25 Years
“I kind of had a little bit of experience in that because I found myself single six years ago,” Jane recalled exclusively to Closer Weekly. “I remember saying to my daughter, ‘What am I going to do? I can’t date, I wouldn’t know what to do. How does this even work?’ It had been 25 years since I last dated. Tinder wasn’t an option for me. At that age, you start thinking about all the things that have changed in the dating world. Like, what do you do on the first date? How many dates before you kiss? And then, how do you handle children and grandchildren? It’s a whole new ballgame.”

Contributing to The Kominsky Method
Jane also revealed that she played a part in shaping the storyline of The Kominsky Method. “I think I probably fed a couple of ideas to Chuck Lorre, the show’s creator,” she said. “It’s not just about the script; it’s about bringing authenticity to the characters. I wanted to make sure the show reflected real-life experiences, especially for those of us who are navigating love later in life.”
A New Chapter with David Green
Despite the challenges, things worked out beautifully for Jane. She’s now in a relationship with David Green, a man she describes as her “contemporary.” “It’s pretty remarkable, actually, because most women my age don’t find someone else,” Jane told Us Weekly. “If they do, they usually end up with much younger men, which can create an uneven dynamic. But David and I are equals. We’ve both lived full lives, and now we’ve found each other again.”

“I’m just enjoying life and not tying knots,” Jane joked when asked about marriage. “I don’t think knots work for me. No. I’m keeping my heart open. Life is about embracing every moment, whether it’s with family, friends, or a partner. And right now, I couldn’t be happier.”
