Hey there, friends! Today, we're diving into a heartwarming story about gratitude and family, brought to us by none other than Marie Osmond. If you're an Instagram follower of hers, you know how much she inspires with her heartfelt messages. Recently, she shared a touching moment with her teenage daughter, Abigail, that'll make you pause and reflect on the blessings in your own life.
Marie's Gift of Gratitude
You know how sometimes life gets so busy, and we forget to take a moment to appreciate the little things? That's exactly what happened with Marie's 17-year-old daughter, Abby. To help her focus on gratitude, Marie handed her a little journal—a daily gratitude journal, to be exact. Marie explained that when they sat down to catch up on their week, Abby shared how focusing on being grateful had helped her navigate some tough times.
View this post on InstagramTo honor the month of November, I recently reread a book by John Kralik called “The Power of Gratitude.” The author was extremely unhappy, and realized his life might be better if instead of focusing on what he didn’t have, he could find a way to be grateful for what he did have. His change of heart was sparked from an unexpected but beautiful thank you note he received. Because that gesture made such a difference to him, he decided to write one thank you note a day for an entire year. The book is about the experiences he had writing the notes and how it changed his life. I also know the Power of Gratitude is real. Reading the book sparked an idea when I came home this Friday. I brought my 17 year old daughter Abby a little daily #gratitude journal. When we sat down to catch up on our week, she told me how she felt focusing on just “being grateful” had helped her get through some challenges. I hadn’t told her about the book on gratitude I had read, so when I handed her the little journal, we both looked at each other and started laughing and said, “no accidents!” I love it when that happens… don’t you?! As we head into the holidays, I am more mindful of being grateful for the little miracles that happen in life everyday. For instance, I have some of my grandchildren around me right now as I write this. I am so grateful my children make the effort to spend time with each other’s kids and spouses. That means the world to Steve and I. I’m also grateful to all of you because when I read your comments on Sundays, I know we are guiding each other through good times and difficult ones. I am grateful for my dear friends, and I am so grateful for this new phase in my life!! I am grateful for the holidays that are coming because they help me focus on what is important to my soul. And my gratitude for each day cannot be measured because I know our time here is a miracle. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” ~1 Corinthians 15:57 This November I am focused being grateful for what I do have and not what I don’t have. And please know that being with you on Sundays is something I cherish… Thank you!!! #SundayMessage

Gratitude in Action
Marie didn't stop there. She went on to share a list of all the things she's grateful for this holiday season. Her list includes everything from her amazing family to her incredible career. Always Something to Be Thankful For
Marie's caption included a powerful quote: “There is always, always something to be thankful for,” and I couldn’t agree more. Her message resonates with so many of us who sometimes get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. The Talk cohost truly has so much to be grateful for, from her precious grandkids to her successful career.
She’s even shared how much she loves spending time with her grandchildren, doing anything to make them happy. Whether it’s miniature golfing, coloring, or playing with fake food in their kitchen, Marie’s commitment to being present for her family is truly inspiring.
So, how about we all take a page from Marie’s book and start our own gratitude journals? Who knows? It might just change your life, too!
