I certainly can’t slow time down (believe me I’ve wished for it) but I can do things that will make my time more meaningful… and I want to stress this as strongly as I can, you do not have to do huge things to have meaningful experiences with other people! There were many times the Savior changed someone’s life just by giving people a “moment” of His time. He was never in a hurry when it came to ministering to people. His apostles sometimes tried to keep him moving on to the next place but the Savior knew something very important about time… it was His to give. He could offer people very little in the way of material things, but he did have time, and He gave it freely! When Marie isn’t dazzling audiences in Las Vegas or filming episodes of The Talk, she’s all about her family. “Every time they visit, I’m amazed at how much they’ve grown,” she says with a sense of awe. She mentions that three of her grandkids started school this year. “They’re so full of life, achieving little milestones, and just being so precious. It’s such a joy to watch them grow and flourish,” she adds with a heartfelt smile.
The Joys of Being a Grandma
Marie wouldn’t trade her role as grandma for anything. “You know, out of all the awards and accolades I’ve received in my life, none of them compare to the joy I get from being a mother to my eight children and a grandma to my grandkids,” she shares with Closer. She’s especially thrilled about the newest addition to the family, her fifth grandchild.
Marie’s love for her grandchildren shines brightly in her social media posts. Last August, she celebrated her granddaughter Rocket Jade’s fourth birthday with a sweet Instagram post. They’re more alike than they realize. “Rachael and I are very similar in a lot of ways,” Marie tells Closer. “She’s got that same personality where she wants to know and do everything. She’s never satisfied. She just took a hair class and now she’s onto another one.”
