Who wouldn’t want their dad to be a superhero? Well, apparently not Paul Rudd’s kids. Sure, playing a superhero on the big screen sounds exciting, but according to Rudd, his two kids think it’s just as cool — if not cooler — to see him munching on spicy chicken wings on YouTube. Let’s dive into this story and see how Rudd’s kids react to their dad’s adventures both on-screen and off.

Paul Rudd Opens Up About His Kids’ Reactions

During a recent episode of Krista Smith’s Netflix podcast, "Present Company," the 50-year-old actor shared a funny insight into how his children perceive his career. Rudd explained that while his kids are thrilled to see him as Ant-Man in the Marvel universe, they’re equally, if not more, excited about his appearance on the YouTube series "Hot Ones." For those unfamiliar, "Hot Ones" is a show where celebrities eat increasingly spicy wings while answering questions. Rudd’s episode aired in October, and he managed to complete all 10 rounds, proving he’s got some serious heat tolerance.

Hot Ones vs. Marvel

Rudd’s kids, Jack (15) and Darby (10), are huge Marvel fans, but they also have a soft spot for spicy challenges. “Oh, I think that’s a tie,” Rudd joked during the podcast. “Because my kids love Marvel, and they really get a kick out of the fact that I’m in it, but boy do they love Hot Ones.” Rudd mentioned that his kids were especially excited when he took on the challenge. It seems like the Rudd household isn’t just about saving the world; it’s also about surviving some fiery wings.

Rudd didn’t just stop at watching the show; he brought the heat home. “I brought all of the bottles of hot sauce home because I knew my son would want to try them,” Rudd revealed. Jack, along with a friend, decided to take on the challenge themselves. “They did it, they did their own Hot Ones challenge, and it took my kids down for about three days,” Rudd said. Jack reportedly felt awful for days and drank a ton of milk, unlike his dad, who didn’t touch any water or milk during the challenge. Rudd was surprised by his own tolerance, but it seems like Jack could have used a few tips from his dad.

It’s clear that Paul Rudd is not just a superhero on-screen but also a pretty awesome dad in real life. Whether it’s saving the world as Ant-Man or surviving a spicy wings challenge, Rudd’s kids are lucky to have such a cool dad. We’re sure they already know it, but it’s always worth reminding them just how awesome their dad really is.
