Speaking exclusively to Closer Weekly, Rita said, "You reach a point in life where you realize, 'I don’t care what others think. I’m doing what I love.'"

This mindset has allowed her to embrace her passion for music with joy and authenticity. "If people enjoy it, that's fantastic, but I'm not trying to force anyone to like it. That freedom makes it so much fun. Plus, I adore writing and making music, and now I'm working on my fourth album," Rita shared. She also revealed that Tom, also 62, was nothing but supportive, encouraging her every step of the way with a simple yet powerful message: "Go, go, go!"

Rita's transition to music hasn't just been about passion—it's been about milestones. She's been making waves with performances at prestigious events like Stagecoach and the CMA Fest. "I made my debut at the Grand Ole Opry—not once, but twice in one week. I had the chance to perform there, and it was unforgettable," Rita recalled. She's also been collaborating with some of the best songwriters in the industry. "A goal of mine would be to have a song on the radio that gets played a lot—whether it's one I've written that someone else sings or one of my own," she said.
