So here's the scoop: Jason Sudeikis has a little bone to pick with his girlfriend Olivia Wilde. The 43-year-old actor, who was guest-hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show on June 12, 2019, decided to air out a parenting grievance in front of a live audience. Can you imagine? It’s like when you’re at the dinner table, and someone decides to bring up that one time you ate the last slice of pizza. But hey, this is about their 4-year-old son, Otis, and a recent trip to Disneyland that didn’t exactly go as planned.
Jason’s Public Grilling of Olivia on Ellen
Jason didn’t mince words when he turned to Olivia, the director of Booksmart, and said, “I do want to take this opportunity in front of a bunch of people to ask you, why do you keep traumatizing our son at amusement parks?” He delivered it with a playful grin, but the question hung in the air like a balloon just waiting to pop. “This is important,” he continued, leaning into the moment. “This is something I wanted to bring up.”
Disneyland’s Not-So-Magical Ride
Now, let’s rewind to the root of this little parenting kerfuffle. Jason explained that what was supposed to be a relaxing family trip to Disneyland quickly turned into a rollercoaster of emotions—literally. It all happened when Jason and Olivia decided it would be a brilliant idea to take Otis on the iconic Space Mountain ride. “It’s really traumatizing for me because you’re not supposed to take a 4-year-old on [the ride],” Olivia admitted after Jason whipped out a photo of their ill-fated adventure on Space Mountain.

In the photo, Olivia is seen clutching Otis tightly, his hair covering his face, as they sit in the front of the ride. Jason, looking like he’s about to face his worst nightmare, occupies the cart behind them. “Look at my face! I’ve never been so scared in my life! That’s real mom fear!” Olivia told the audience. Jason chimed in, adding, “And that’s real little boy fear. He looks like he’s in The Ring!”
The Lesson Learned
So, what did we learn from this little Disneyland debacle? Maybe that the parents of two should think twice before deciding when their younger child, 2-year-old Daisy, gets to take on an adult ride. Just saying. Olivia, for her part, tried to defend herself, saying, “First of all, why did we go in the front? That I’ll never understand. Second of all, why did they let [Otis] on? There’s a height chart, but there’s no weight chart.”
She went on to describe Otis as “really tall, but really skinny, like a little string bean,” worrying aloud, “He could have flown right out of there. I have never been so scared in my life.”
