However, one significant figure was notably absent—Archie’s grandfather, Thomas Markle. Now, Thomas has spoken out about not being invited by his daughter, Meghan Markle, sharing his heartfelt feelings on the matter.
In a candid statement to the Daily Mail, the 74-year-old revealed, “I have been asked if I would have liked to go to Britain to see my new grandson being christened.” Thomas, who has deep ties to the church, added, “I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen’s church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson. Of course, I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents health and happiness.”
Thomas Markle's Feelings on Missing Archie's Christening
Had Thomas been present at the christening, he would have crossed paths with some of the most prominent members of the royal family. The event included Meghan's husband, Prince Harry, along with Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Thomas’ ex-wife, Doria Ragland, was also in attendance at the private chapel at Windsor Castle in England on July 6, 2019.
