For a solid ten years, Kevin O'Leary has been a cornerstone of the wildly popular reality show, Shark Tank. Along the way, he's not only gleaned a lot about his fellow sharks but also discovered why he might never get tired of stepping onto the set every single day. It’s not just about the money—it’s about the thrill of the unexpected.

“Every single day is different—you just have no clue who’s going to walk through that door. I’ve been at this for a decade now, and it just never gets old,” the 64-year-old exclusively told Closer Weekly after bagging the award for Best TV Villain for Shark Tank at the 6th Annual Reality Television Awards. “The guest sharks this year are absolutely fantastic—we’ve got some new billionaires. Everyone wants to be on Shark Tank now, which is great, but it’s always a different dynamic, always fascinating, and then you meet these incredible entrepreneurs.”

“What’s amazing is how many young people are tuning in. There’s a huge demographic of 9-18-year-old women watching the show. Who would have guessed that would happen?” the businessman added, clearly astonished by the show's broad appeal.

Kevin’s fellow sharks include the ever-entertaining Mark Cuban, Daymond John, and Lori Greiner. But when asked who the biggest competitor is among the sharks, Kevin didn’t hesitate to have a little fun. “Well, I look at it this way,” the TV personality said with a twinkle in his eye. “There are two sharks that I absolutely think are fantastic. One is Kevin O’Leary and the other is Mr. Wonderful. They’re both spectacular,” he joked, clearly referring to himself both times.

    Competition Among the Sharks

While everyone on the panel is incredibly successful, Kevin emphasized that it's not all about the money, even though Mark Cuban may have a bigger net worth. “It’s all about helping entrepreneurs. We love doing that so much. I always tell Mark, ‘I should invoice you for everything you’ve learned from me. The structure of deals, royalty deals, all that stuff,’” he joked. “But you know, we have heated discussions all the time. The sharks genuinely enjoy each other. We’ve gotten to know each other over the years, but it’s super competitive in there. We don’t even see the cameras anymore. We just focus on the deals.”
