Andy Opens Up About His Journey to Parenthood
Though Andy and Benjamin will soon be celebrating the little one’s first birthday, it feels like just yesterday that the Radio Andy host announced the birth of his son. During a visit to The Wendy Williams Show on July 18, Andy shared his personal reasons for deciding to become a dad via surrogacy.
“I was approaching 50 and I was thinking … is this my destiny, I’ll just be hosting the show and being Andy in the city, or is there more for me?” Andy confessed to Wendy. “Family has always been incredibly important to me … I just thought this [having a baby] is in my future and now this is the last exit to doing this, so I did it.”

Andy's Transition to Parenthood
It wasn’t until Andy realized he was truly ready to take this step. “I’ve been Andy in the city for a long time,” he admitted, adding that wild nights out will soon become a distant memory as Benjamin grows. “I was ready to be Andy on the couch, with the kid.”
