She’s one of the most recognizable actresses in Hollywood, but Angelina Jolie says her children couldn’t care less about the glitz and glamour of show business. While promoting her latest film, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the mother of five revealed that her kids have no interest in following in her footsteps on the big screen. Instead, they're setting their sights on careers that focus on making a real difference in the world.
“None of my kids are interested in becoming actors,” the 44-year-old star told People. Angelina, who is mom to Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, added, “They’re more into business, humanitarian work, and other meaningful pursuits. It’s wonderful to see them finding their own passions outside of the entertainment industry.”
Young Vivienne’s Stint as a Princess
Back in 2014, Angelina’s youngest daughter Vivienne made a splash by playing young Aurora in the original Maleficent movie. But despite getting a taste of what it’s like to act, Angelina revealed that none of her kids were eager to take on a role in the sequel. “I tried,” she joked, referencing her attempt to cast one of her children in the Disney follow-up. “But Viv still can’t believe I made her a princess. She’s definitely not interested in pursuing acting!”

Parenting in the Spotlight
Angelina’s comments come just weeks after she opened up about raising her six children in the public eye. Sharing custody with ex-husband Brad Pitt, the actress has always been careful to shield her kids from the pressures of Hollywood. Still, she admits she’s tried to expose them to all aspects of life, including the entertainment world.
“I’ve always wanted them to experience everything,” she explained in a late September interview with Extra. “Hollywood is part of their life, but it’s not the center of their world. It’s something fun, not something that defines them. I don’t want them to feel overwhelmed or consumed by it.”
