Hey there, friends. You know how life can throw curveballs when you least expect it? Well, this year’s Christmas is shaping up to be a little different for Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne. The power couple, who tied the knot way back in 1982, are facing their first holiday season apart in 40 years. Sharon, ever the candid one, recently spilled the tea about her solo Christmas plans while chatting with the ladies of ITV’s Loose Women talk show.
A Heartfelt Conversation About Spending the Holidays Alone
Sharon, glowing as ever at 67, revealed that Ozzy, 70, won’t be making the trip from Los Angeles to London this year. “No, he’s not going to come,” she said, her voice tinged with a mix of sadness and understanding. She went on to explain that doctors have strongly advised against Ozzy flying due to an array of ongoing health concerns. “It’s the first time in 40 years that we’re not together. This will be our 40th Christmas … I know, it’s going to be weird,” Sharon admitted, her words resonating with anyone who’s ever experienced a holiday without their loved ones.

Family Time, Despite the Distance
Despite the miles between them on Christmas Day, Sharon shared that she and Ozzy will still be surrounded by the people who matter most—their kids. “He’s going to stay home now with Jack and Amy and the grandkids,” she explained, referring to their children, Amy Osbourne, 36, Kelly Osbourne, 35, and Jack Osbourne, 34. “And I’m here with Kelly.” It’s a testament to the strength of their family bond that, even when apart, they’re finding ways to make the holidays special.

Ozzy’s Health Challenges in 2019
Ozzy’s doctor’s orders to stay put in L.A. for Christmas come on the heels of a challenging year health-wise. Last October, Ozzy sent shockwaves through his fanbase when he revealed he had to undergo surgery for an infection in his hand. In true Ozzy fashion, he kept things light, captioning a hospital photo of himself eating ice cream with, “Feeling better after surgery. Ice cream helps.” Classic Ozzy.
Just when things seemed to be looking up, Sharon took to social media in February to update fans on another health scare. This time, Ozzy had been hospitalized after battling the flu and pneumonia. “As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu,” she wrote. “His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.” It’s clear that Sharon and Ozzy have an incredible support system in their family and fans.
