How Garth and Trisha Make the Holidays Special
Every family has its own unique way of celebrating Christmas, and Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are no exception. At 55, Trisha reveals that instead of jetting off to a warm destination for the holidays, they prefer something far more meaningful. They wait patiently for Garth's kids—Taylor, 27, August, 25, and Allie, 23—to come home before starting any festivities. It’s all about togetherness and making memories as a family.
Trisha recently shared their special tradition on Good Morning America, saying, “We decorate the tree together. Now that they’re all grown up and living in different places, we make sure the tree doesn’t get decorated until everyone’s under the same roof.” Sometimes, this means the tree stands bare for a week or two, but that’s okay. The magic of Christmas, for them, is about being together. “We’ll wait as long as it takes to make sure we’re all there to do it as a family,” Trisha added with a smile.
Garth's Journey to Love
Garth Brooks, now 57, shares his three children with his ex-wife, Sandy Mahl. Their marriage lasted 15 years before they decided to part ways. But love found Garth again in 2005 when he tied the knot with Trisha Yearwood, and the rest, as they say, is history. The two have been inseparable ever since.

“We always had a deep respect for each other,” Trisha once told Closer Weekly. “It’s the friendship and respect that keep us going. That’s the glue that holds us together, and we laugh all the time, too. It’s what makes our relationship so special.”
Even though Garth met Trisha when he was still married to Sandy, he always felt like something was missing until Trisha came into his life. “I had been married for 13 months when I met Trisha,” Garth recalled. “Someone asked me what I thought of her, and I said, ‘I feel like I just met my wife.’ It was strange, but it felt right.”
