For several weeks, audiences were left guessing about the identity of the mysterious Leopard on The Masked Singer. The elaborate costume, the stunning performances, and the captivating mystery kept viewers glued to their screens. But here’s the twist—Seal, the man behind the mask, kept his involvement a secret from the people closest to him: his own kids.
Seal's Motivation: A Surprise for the Family
According to showrunner and executive producer Izzie Pick Ibarra, Seal’s decision to join the show was driven by a desire to surprise and entertain his children. “Leopard wanted to do the show because he wanted to give his kids something truly special,” Izzie explained in an interview with Variety. “Even when the big reveal aired, his kids still had no idea it was him. He went through all of this just to make them laugh and create a moment they’ll never forget.”
Izzie added that the production team had initially hoped to capture the kids' reaction when they found out their dad was Leopard. “We really wanted to send a camera to film the exact moment they realized it was him,” she said. “Unfortunately, due to logistical and privacy reasons, we couldn’t make it happen. But I can only imagine how priceless that moment must have been.”

Seal's Family: Four Kids Who Didn't Know Their Dad Was a Star
Seal, the Grammy-winning singer, shares four children with his ex-wife, supermodel Heidi Klum: daughters Helene, 15, and Lou, 10, and sons Henry, 14, and Johan, 13. Despite his illustrious career, Seal decided to keep his participation in The Masked Singer a secret from them. Unfortunately, his run on the show came to an end when he was eliminated just before making it to the final three.
“All truth be told, I’m feeling a little sad going home tonight,” Seal told host Nick Cannon moments after being voted out. “I had hoped to make it to the finale, but all good things come to an end. Still, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to perform in such a unique way and to bring some joy to my family and fans.”

Challenges and Fun: Performing in a Leopard Costume
Seal admitted that performing in the elaborate Leopard costume wasn’t easy. “I couldn’t really break character because, first of all, I’d look ridiculous being Seal and being serious in this outfit,” he joked. “But beyond that, it was such a rare and fun opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and be something completely different. It allowed me to explore a side of myself that I don’t normally get to showcase in my day-to-day life.”
“Being anonymous added an extra layer of excitement,” Seal continued. “It was like stepping into a whole new world where nobody knew who I was. That was a thrilling experience, and I’m grateful for every moment of it.”
As the show continues to captivate audiences, one former competitor knows exactly what it’s like to perform on that same stage: Donny Osmond. The veteran entertainer came in second place during the show’s first season and had nothing but kind words for Seal.
“Leopard Mask/@seal, you are one of my favorite artists,” Donny, 62, wrote on Instagram on Thursday, December 12. “A true legend, indeed. I also thought your performance of ‘Big Spender’ was your best performance of the series. I’m sorry to see you leave. You’ve made this season extremely classy.”
