Right before the episode aired, the 60-year-old icon gave her fans a sneak peek on Instagram Stories. In the video, we see Marie's talented hairstylist, Angela Christine, explaining the inspiration behind the look. "We’ve got a bob going on—a little textured, messy bob," Angela enthusiastically shares. She adds, "I wanted to give her something different, something that would make her feel fresh and confident." It’s clear that Angela knows exactly how to bring out Marie's inner rockstar.
As it turns out, this fabulous bob wasn't a permanent change—it was a wig! During the show, Marie revealed the truth with a big smile. "So, did I cut my hair?" she playfully asked. Angela chimed in, "No, this is just a wig!" Marie couldn't hide her excitement. "Isn’t this incredible?" she exclaimed. "Look at this wig!" It’s safe to say she was completely smitten with her new look.

The Wig Game-Changer
At first, Marie wasn’t so sure about trying wigs. "I said, 'I don’t want to wear wigs,'" she admitted, running her fingers through the soft tresses. But after seeing how natural it looked, she was blown away. "They look real. I mean, it’s crazy!" she marveled. According to Angela, the wig is made of 100 percent human hair, carefully styled and colored to match Marie's signature look while adding a modern twist.
Marie explained her hesitation: "I love doing ponytails and throwing my hair up in a bun. I didn't want to lose that freedom." However, once she saw how versatile wigs could be, she was sold. Angela added, "We wanted to give her something that looks similar but just edges it up a bit." It’s clear that this wig was crafted with care to complement Marie's personal style.

Marie isn’t just experimenting with wigs for fun—there’s a deeper reason behind it. She told Closer Weekly that wearing wigs started as a way to avoid unwanted attention from paparazzi when spending time with her family. "My kids really like it, and initially, I did it just so we can have our private time," she shared. "Because I’m not going to be rude if someone comes up for an autograph, but I notice that they now don’t—well, now that I posted it, they know that I’m blonde—so I have a red-headed [wig] now, it’s really good!"

Despite her love for wigs, Marie jokes that there's only one scenario where she'd officially ditch her signature brunette locks. "If my hair gets really, really gray and I can’t dye it black anymore, I’ll go blonde!" she quipped with Closer. Sounds like we might be seeing some bold changes in the future!
