Throughout her illustrious career spanning decades, Madonna has consistently reinvented herself. But it seems her kids aren't entirely on board with her latest transformation into "Madame X." According to a source who spoke exclusively to Closer Weekly, her children are hoping she ditches the eye patch that has become a signature accessory of this new persona.
Madonna's Kids Aren't Thrilled with Her Pirate Vibe
Madonna, now 61, has always been known for her bold fashion choices, but her latest look has left her children feeling a little uneasy. Lourdes Leon, 23, and Rocco Ritchie, 19, have reportedly agreed that their mom looks a bit like a "crazy Halloween pirate" with the eye patch. The source revealed that they've even begged her to stop wearing it. "Madonna's kids just can't get behind this particular fashion statement," the insider shared, adding that they think it's a bit much.

Madonna Stands Firm on Her Eye Patch
Despite her kids' protests, Madonna remains committed to her eye patch. "Madonna has always been about pushing boundaries, and her fans love every wild thing she does," the source explained. "Her children, however, have a different perspective." The iconic singer first unveiled her embellished eye patch, featuring a bold "X" design, during the release of her music video for "Medellín" in April. In the video, she appeared alongside Colombian singer Maluma, sporting the eye-piece that has since become a central part of her Madame X persona.

Madonna Opens Up About Madame X
In June, Madonna discussed the inspiration behind her Madame X persona during an appearance on the Today show. As the proud mother of five children—David Ritchie, 14, Mercy James, 13, and 7-year-old twins Estere Ciccone and Stelle Ciccone—Madonna explained how her new album and its titular character came to life. "Madame X is a spy, a secret agent who travels the world, changing her identity and sleeping with one eye open," she revealed. "She's a character who's been wounded, and the eye patch is part of her story."
