Marie Osmond’s Heartwarming Christmas Experience
Hey there, friends! Let’s talk about something truly special. This Christmas was nothing short of magical for Marie Osmond and her family. Imagine this: the house filled with laughter, the sound of tiny footsteps running all over the place, and the joy of spending time with loved ones. That’s exactly what happened in Marie’s world this holiday season. She couldn’t help but share her excitement with her followers on Instagram, and it’s such a beautiful story that I just had to share it with all of you.
Marie, who turned 60 this year, posted a heartwarming photo of her grandchildren on December 29. She wrote, “This #Christmas has been so incredible! The photo with the babies are our three little piglets 🤣, as we affectionately call them.” Can you picture that? Three adorable little ones, running around like little piglets, spreading joy and mischief everywhere they go. It’s absolutely precious.
A House Full of Love and Memories
Marie went on to describe how blessed she and her husband, Steve Craig, feel to have most of their children and grandchildren around during the holidays. “My husband Steve and I are so blessed to have most of our children and our adorable grand babies running around and around and around the house!” she exclaimed. It’s not just about the chaos, though. It’s about creating lasting memories and keeping traditions alive.

But there’s more to this Christmas than just the joy of being surrounded by family. For Marie, it was also a time to reflect on her own childhood and the memories of her late mother. “But more than anything, this Christmas has brought back so many memories of times I watched my mother with her grandchildren during Christmases past,” she shared. Her mother taught her so much about being a mom and now a grandmother, and those lessons are something Marie treasures deeply.

My husband Steve and I are so blessed to have most of our children and our adorable grand babies running around and around and around the house! But more than anything, this Christmas has brought back so many memories of times I watched my Mother with her grandchildren during Christmases past. She taught me how to be a mom and now a grandmother by example. The second photo is of a plant I gave my Mom that I keep in my sewing room in Utah. I went there for a day right before my symphony shows and when I walked in, it was in full bloom… The Christmas Cactus! 🌵🌺 When my sweet Mother was bedridden by her debilitating stroke, I surrounded her with the things she loved—from photos to music to books I would read to her, and sewing shows on TV. But the first thing I brought to the hospital was this beautiful Christmas Cactus that’s now in my home, her favorite plant! Oh and she LOVED her plants! A “Christmas Cactus” by virtue of it’s name, is supposed to only bloom around Christmas time, but I swear this one is magical. It’s like my Mom still expresses her happiness through it, because it blooms on special occasions throughout the year. It even bloomed overnight the day I decided to be single again. 🤣 But mostly, this little cactus has felt like a beautiful welcome each time I come here from my sweet Mother. Today her Christmas Cactus is a sweet metaphor to me of the continual love and consistency we need in our lives. Especially now, more than ever, in this world of constant change and chaos. Mom would say to me, “people change, but truth does not, as people we are fickle, but God does not change. He is consistent in His love, acceptance and truth.” I am confident that 2020 is going to be an epic year! I am going to pray, read, study and serve with more consistency and love! I am contemplating new goals to help me continually grow and I would love to hear some of yours! #HappyNewYear dear friends, I love you all!
The Magic of the Christmas Cactus
Marie’s post didn’t stop there. She also shared a photo of a Christmas cactus, a plant that holds a special place in her heart. This plant belonged to her late mother, Olive Osmond, who passed away in 2004 after suffering a stroke. Olive loved this plant more than anything, and it has now become a symbol of her enduring love and presence in Marie’s life.
“A ‘Christmas cactus’ by virtue of its name, is supposed to only bloom around Christmastime, but I swear this one is magical,” Marie explained. “It’s like my mom still expresses her happiness through it, because it blooms on special occasions throughout the year. It even bloomed overnight the day I decided to divorce my ex-husband. No kidding!!”

Marie sees this as a sign of her mother’s approval and love. “I think it was Mom’s way of saying, ‘good decision, daughter!’ 🤣 But mostly, this little cactus has felt like a beautiful welcome each time I come here from my sweet mother,” she added. To Marie, this plant represents the continuous love and consistency we need in our lives, especially in a world that’s constantly changing.
Passing on Love to the Next Generation
Marie continues to pass on this love to her grandchildren. In fact, she previously told Closer Weekly that spending time with them isn’t hard at all because she loves doing “anything” with her family. “They’ll want to go miniature golfing or my little granddaughter wants to just color or they’ll make fake food in their kitchen and we’ll eat it,” she laughed. “Whatever it is, I’m there for it.”
It’s clear that Marie cherishes every moment with her family, and she’s determined to keep the traditions and lessons her mother taught her alive. As we move into the new year, let’s take a page from Marie’s book and focus on creating our own traditions and moments of love with the people who matter most to us.
We’re so glad to hear that Marie and her family had such a wonderful Christmas, and we hope you all did too!
