He’s already started speaking, and one of his first words has a surprisingly cute backstory. If you’re curious about the royal family’s daily life, this story will melt your heart.
A Royal Family Moment: Prince Louis's First Words
In an upcoming BBC holiday special, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, opened up about her youngest child’s early milestones. The 37-year-old royal mom, along with her husband Prince William, also 37, joined British culinary legend Mary Berry in a festive celebration. During the special, Kate revealed that Prince Louis’s first word was none other than “Mary.” But why “Mary”? According to Kate, it all comes down to the kitchen bookshelf.
“Louis is at the perfect height to see all my cooking books on the kitchen bookshelf,” Kate explained. “And guess who’s on the cover of many of those books? Mary Berry! He would point at her picture and say, ‘Mary.’ It’s adorable because he’d even say, ‘That’s Mary Berry.’ I think he’d recognize her if he saw her today,” Kate added with a laugh. It’s clear that Louis has a little foodie in him already!
