James Bond Returns In 'No Time To Die': Daniel Craig's Final Mission

No Time To Die: Trailer for new Bond film, Daniel Craig's last

Hey there, movie fans. Listen up because this is huge. The global wait is almost over. After nearly five years, James Bond is back on the big screen this April in the 25th 007 adventure, No Time to Die. This one’s special—it marks Daniel Craig’s fifth, and as we’re hearing, most likely final, appearance as the iconic British superspy. If the just-released trailer is any indication, it seems like Daniel's going out with a bang. This movie is shaping up to be something unforgettable.

What Daniel Craig Had to Say About His Final Bond Role

Recently, Daniel Craig appeared on Good Morning America to celebrate the release of the trailer. When asked about the biggest surprise he encountered while making the film, Daniel paused for a moment and then said, “The biggest surprise, really, was just how much I enjoyed it. I still get such a thrill from playing Bond. If you can’t get excited about this job, I don’t know what else there is.” You could tell he was reflecting on his journey, and it’s clear that this role still means so much to him.

Rami Malek Joins the Fray as the Villain

Also joining the cast on the show was Rami Malek, who plays the villain, Safin. Now, here’s the kicker—details about Safin are scarce, but series producer Barbara Broccoli has described him as “a nasty piece of work.” Rami Malek added some intrigue by saying, “It’s a very unnerving character, and I get to face off with this man [referring to Daniel] in a battle of epic proportions. He’s a very formidable, nasty human being, but I can’t say anything else about it.” Daniel, with a sly smile, joked, “He’s just a misunderstood guy who maybe needs a hug.”

Director Cary Fukunaga weighed in on Bond’s relevance in today’s world. He said, “Bond’s a compelling character and one that means a lot of different things to different people across multiple generations. This movie carries on the tradition of the previous four films’ storylines and we’re doing our best to wrap them up in a really exciting way. It’s been five years since the last one, so a new, younger generation will get to discover Bond for the first time.”

Now, let’s talk about the returning cast members. Lea Seydoux is back as Madeleine Swann, who left with Bond in the last film, Spectre, but this time seems to be hiding a secret. Ralph Fiennes returns as Bond’s boss, M. Naomi Harris reprises her role as Eve Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, Jeffrey Wright as CIA agent Felix Leiter, and Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld. A new face joins the mix—Lashana Lynch plays Nomi, a “00” agent rumored to have taken over Bond’s “007” designation after his retirement in Spectre. Lashana previously played Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel.

No Time to Die will be released in the United States on April 8, 2020. Mark your calendars because this one is not to be missed.
