You know that feeling when life hands you a curveball, but somehow it all works out in the end? That's exactly what Dylan Dreyer and her husband Brian Fichera are experiencing right now. The couple, who already have a little boy named Calvin, are expecting their second child. But this journey to parenthood again hasn’t been without its challenges. After suffering a miscarriage, Dylan wasn’t sure if she’d ever get pregnant again. Yet, here they are, celebrating the arrival of another baby.

Speaking to People, the 38-year-old Today star opened up about the emotional rollercoaster she’s been on. “I feel so grateful because I know it was so much harder this time around,” Dylan said. “We weren’t sure if we’d be able to get pregnant, or what kind of IVF treatments we’d have to go through to make this happen. Every night, I pray and thank God for putting us in this situation and giving us this opportunity. We’re so lucky not to have had to struggle as much as we could have.”

Family Growth and Emotional Reflections

For Dylan and Brian, who tied the knot back in 2012, family has always been at the heart of their lives. Their son Calvin, who’s just 2 years old, is about to become a big brother. Dylan admits that while she’s excited about the new arrival, her focus is on ensuring Calvin feels secure and loved during this transition. “I’m more worried about Calvin’s feelings than this baby,” she confessed. “When I was pregnant with Calvin, it was all about the nerves of having a new baby and not knowing what to do. But this time, I know the baby will be fine. I’m so worried about how Calvin feels. For the past three years, it’s all been about him.”

Preparing Calvin for the New Arrival

Dylan is taking every step to ensure her firstborn feels included and excited about the new baby. “We made a big deal out of converting his room into his big boy room,” she explained. “We wanted him to feel like the baby wasn’t stealing his space. Even Calvin’s room is being prepared for his sibling’s arrival.” Dylan shared that she’s been using creative ways to keep Calvin engaged and excited. “I had this little treasure chest, and I put a countdown on it. Every day, we cross off the day, and Calvin opens up the treasure chest to find a new little gift from his baby brother. It’s been such a fun way to keep him involved and excited,” she said.

Before learning she was pregnant again, Dylan expressed her desire to expand their family. During an episode of Today, she mentioned how much she wanted to give her son the experience of having a sibling. “My friend just had a baby, and he held her, and it was just so sweet.
