Could a 'Friends' Reunion Be on the Horizon?
It’s the question that’s been on the minds of fans for years: Will the beloved cast of Friends ever reunite? Well, during a fun-filled appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on June 5, Jennifer Aniston gave us some exciting insight. The 50-year-old star, known for her iconic role as Rachel Green, shared her thoughts on the possibility of revisiting the hit sitcom.
“Listen, I’ve been saying this for a while now: I would do it,” Jen told Ellen, her excitement practically spilling out of the screen. She went on to reveal that the entire cast—Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc—would likely be on board for a revival. “The girls would do it. And the boys? Oh, they’d do it too, I’m sure,” she added, her enthusiasm contagious.

Ellen's Joke: Could Jen Do It Alone?
While the idea of a reunion sounds amazing, Ellen couldn’t resist throwing in a playful joke. “You know what, Jen? You could do the show all by yourself. We’ll just call it Friend—just Friend,” the 61-year-old host quipped, sparking laughter from the audience. Ellen then suggested that she could move into the apartment next door to Rachel’s, acting as the nosy neighbor with a cup of sugar. Talk about creative thinking!

25 Years Later: The Legacy of 'Friends'
An upcoming reunion would be perfectly timed, as September 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Friends’ debut in 1994. This beloved sitcom aired for 10 incredible seasons before wrapping up in 2004. That’s right—15 whole years have passed since the series went off the air. During her chat with Ellen, Jen revealed that legendary director James Burrows had predicted the show’s massive success before it even premiered.

“James handed each of us a couple hundred bucks and said, ‘Go gamble in the casino. This is the last time you’ll be able to walk into a casino anonymously,’” Jen recalled, reminiscing about the cast’s pre-series trip to Las Vegas. This story was brought to life again when Courteney Cox shared a throwback photo from their Vegas adventure in mid-May. “The one where the six of us went to Vegas and no one knew we were F.R.I.E.N.D.S yet,” Courteney captioned the post.
Looking Back: A Moment of Clarity
At the time, the cast was utterly confused by James’ words. “We had no idea what he meant. We were like, ‘What do you mean?’” Jen explained. But now, reflecting on those early days, it all makes sense. “Sure enough, that was the last time we could walk into a casino without being recognized.”
