Hey there, friends! Let’s talk about Kevin Costner, the legendary actor who has graced our screens with so many unforgettable performances. If you take a closer look at his filmography, you’ll notice that a lot of his movies aren’t exactly kid-friendly. But here’s the thing: Kevin recently revealed that he’s totally cool with his kids eventually watching all of his films. Yep, you heard that right—all of them!
Costner Talks About Family-Friendly Films
At 64 years old, Kevin made a special appearance at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on August 1, 2023. He was there for the premiere of his latest project, The Art of Racing in the Rain. Now, this movie is different from what the Oscar-winning actor is usually known for—it’s a heartwarming tale suitable for all ages. “I think this movie resonates with everyone, even kids,” Kevin shared with the press. “It’s the kind of film that can bring generations together. Imagine watching it with your grandparents or, like me, sharing it with my grandchildren.”

Letting Kids Watch His Movies
Kevin, known for his role in Dances With Wolves, is planning to let his children watch all his films when they’re ready. “I’m at peace with them watching all of my movies eventually,” he said with a smile. “Some of them might not be appropriate for them now, but as they grow older, they’ll understand the stories and themes. For the ones they’re ready for, they’re always welcome to watch. For the rest, well, I’ll let them know when they hit 13, and then again when they’re 21.”

Kevin has seven kids—Annie, 35, Lily, 32, Joseph, 31, Liam, 23, Cayden, 12, Hayes, 10, and Grace, 9. Despite having such a large family, Kevin isn’t entirely sure if any of his children have a favorite movie among his works. “I don’t think they do,” Kevin joked. “We don’t really talk about movies at home. Honestly, my kids probably think I live in a trailer!”
