Friends are supposed to keep things real, right? Even if that means a little playful teasing. Country superstar Blake Shelton recently opened up about a laugh-out-loud moment with his good buddy, Garth Brooks, ahead of their new song collaboration, “Dive Bar.”
During an appearance on Entertainment Tonight, Blake, who joined Garth on stage for a breathtaking performance of their newly released track at Boise State University in Idaho on July 19, shared how his fellow country legend has been giving him a hard time recently. And let’s just say, it’s all in good fun!

According to Blake, who's been dating singer Gwen Stefani since 2015, Garth sent him a cheeky text message before their big performance. “I got a text from my man here earlier that said, ‘Hey, man, we got your dressing room set up for you,’” Blake recalled, laughing as he continued. “And then he sent me a picture, and it was a sign that said ‘Mr. Stefani’ on it.” Talk about playful ribbing!

Garth, who's no stranger to pulling pranks, clearly had some fun at Blake's expense. But Blake admitted that retaliating against Garth isn’t exactly easy. “It sucks because Garth is kind of off-limits,” the “Some Beach” singer joked. “You can’t mess with him because he’s like the godfather of country music.”
