Let’s talk about a star-studded night in London that had even the Queen of Destiny's Child feeling a little jittery. Comedian and actor Billy Eichner revealed that even the legendary Beyoncé gets nervous sometimes, especially when meeting royalty. And we're not talking about just any royals—Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were in attendance at the London premiere of The Lion King.
A Star-Studded Red Carpet with Some Royal Nerves
Billy Eichner, who lent his voice to the character Timon in the live-action version of The Lion King, shared the scoop during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on July 18, 2019. He recounted the unforgettable experience of mingling with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, alongside other A-listers like Beyoncé and Sir Elton John. “Harry and Meghan came, and Beyoncé was there, and Sir Elton John was there. And I was there, randomly,” Eichner told the host with a chuckle. “It was great, and we were all kind of nervous—even Beyoncé.”

Protocol Meets Hollywood: How to Greet Royalty
Eichner went on to explain the strict protocols that come with meeting royalty. “In the days leading up to it, they email you a protocol of how you’re supposed to greet Prince Harry,” he said. “They’re very intense about it. … You’re supposed to say ‘Your Royal Highness.’ You can’t speak until your hands are in a handshake with his. My plus-one, my guest I brought with me, my very good friend Jared, they said he had to stand behind me and not speak unless he was spoken to. I’m not kidding. I was like, ‘Does that same rule apply to Jay-Z? I have a feeling it doesn’t.’”

The Royal Baby Talk: Archie Takes Center Stage
When the former actress, 47, and her husband, 34, met the power couple, they soon began discussing their royal son, Archie. After the “Halo” singer gushed about how beautiful their son was, Prince Harry mimicked his baby boy by lifting his head and stretching his neck, showcasing the pride any dad would feel. “He’s holding his neck up?” Beyoncé asked, clearly charmed. Prince Harry simply replied by looking at his wife and saying that their little one is “not so little anymore!” How adorable is that?
