He’s a two-time Super Bowl MVP, a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, a beloved TV sports commentator, a movie star, a rancher, and, believe it or not, a singer. Yes, even longtime fans of the legendary ex-Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback were surprised when Terry Bradshaw revealed his vocal talents on Fox’s hit competition series The Masked Singer back in January. This wasn’t his first foray into music, though. Terry had already shared his country crooning skills on his 1976 debut LP I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.

“Making people laugh and singing—those are the moments I truly cherish,” Terry, now 70, exclusively tells Closer Weekly in the magazine’s latest issue, currently available on newsstands. “We’re living in a world filled with so much anger, and I just want to bring joy to people’s lives.”

With that in mind, Terry recently booked a limited engagement of The Terry Bradshaw Show at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He’s also planning more performances for next year and has just filmed a new reality show pilot featuring his wife, Tammy, 57, and their daughters Erin, 30, Rachel, 32, and stepdaughter Lacey, 30. Closer caught up with Terry to talk about his well-being, his 18-year marriage to Tammy, and the funniest moments he’s experienced on air.

Back on Stage: Terry’s Las Vegas Adventure

When asked about his recent stint in Las Vegas, Terry says it felt great to return to the stage after a hiatus. “We performed two nights at the Mirage five years ago and started touring,” he recalls. “But after losing my son-in-law [Rob Bironas, Rachel’s husband, in a tragic car crash in 2014], we decided to put the show on hold. It took a few years to make sure Rachel was okay and that the timing was right. Luckily, MGM and the Luxor were supportive and said, ‘Carrot Top’s moving out—let’s bring you in!’”

A Time for Reflection: How’s Terry Doing Today?

Terry shares that he’s currently enjoying a peaceful phase in his life. “Right now, it’s a beautiful time. I’m 70, and it’s the perfect moment to do things people don’t expect from me,” he says with a smile.

Reliving the Glory Days: Terry’s NFL Career

Reflecting on his time as a quarterback, Terry remarks, “What made the ’70s special for me was being part of a team that won four Super Bowls without losing a single one. That’s what people remember you by, right? So, mission accomplished! [Laughs]”
