The legendary actress recently opened up about her current love life, and let’s just say, she’s got her priorities straight. At 62, Melanie isn’t rushing to find "the one." Instead, she's soaking in the joys of independence while embracing life on her terms.
During an appearance at the Farrah Fawcett Foundation’s Tex-Mex Fiesta in Beverly Hills on September 6, Melanie spilled some serious truth about her dating status. When asked by Closer Weekly what she looks for in a guy, she joked, "I’m not looking!" She added, "If someone special comes along, it’ll feel like magic. But do you think I’m going to swipe right on Tinder? Not happening." Talk about owning your choices, right?
Griffith’s Take on Modern Romance
For someone who’s been in the public eye for decades, Melanie knows a thing or two about relationships. She describes herself as "an old-fashioned girl" who believes in meeting people naturally. "I’d love to meet someone organically, you know, without apps or forced setups," she explained. And honestly, who can blame her? Being single has its perks, and Melanie is fully enjoying hers. "I’m having such a blast being single," she confessed. After all, this isn’t her first rodeo—Melanie has walked down the aisle four times before.

A Look Back at Melanie’s Past Loves
Let’s rewind for a moment. Melanie’s first marriage was to actor Don Johnson back in January 1976. Unfortunately, their union lasted only until July of that same year. Fast forward to 1981, and she tied the knot again, this time with Steven Bauer. That marriage ended in divorce in 1989. But that wasn’t the end of her marital adventures. Later that year, she remarried Bauer, only to part ways seven years later. Her fourth and final marriage came in 1996 when she walked down the aisle with Antonio Banderas. They called it quits in 2015 after nearly two decades together.
Through these marriages, Melanie became a mom to three beautiful kids: son Alexander, now 34, and daughters Dakota, 29, and Stella, 22. With such a full life, it’s no wonder she’s taking her time before jumping into anything serious again. "Right now, I’m just living the life I’ve always dreamed of," she said.

When asked about the possibility of walking down the aisle again, Melanie was candid. "Marriage just doesn’t seem relevant anymore, especially if you’re 60, have kids, and are already living the life you’ve always wanted," she told InStyle. "I’d love to fall in love, sure, but marriage? Not happening. I’ve had my share of relationships, and while I’m open to romance, I’m not rushing into anything." It’s clear that Melanie is content with where she is in life—and that’s something we can all admire.
