There's a buzz in the air as fans gear up for the latest season of "Dancing With the Stars." Everyone is talking about the star-studded lineup, but one particular celeb, Christie Brinkley, has a unique take on the experience. The legendary model, who's set to dazzle the dance floor at 65, shared how her kids reacted when they found out about her decision to join the competition. And guess what? They weren't exactly thrilled—or maybe they were just trying to keep it cool.

Christie Brinkley's Kids React to Mom's Big News

Recently, Christie attended the "DWTS" cast reveal at Planet Hollywood, where she opened up about her family's reaction to her big announcement. “When I told them, they just burst into laughter,” the supermodel revealed exclusively to Closer Weekly. “They were like, ‘Really? Mom, are you serious?’” Christie went on to describe how her daughter Sailor, who's got some serious dance moves, wasn't exactly jumping at the chance to teach her mom a thing or two. “Every time she starts dancing, I try to copy her, and she just looks at me like, ‘Mom, come on.’ But I’m determined! I’ve already started my lessons,” she added with a laugh.

Will Her Kids Be Helping Her Prep?

Christie, a proud mom to three grown kids—Alexa, 33, Jack, 24, and Sailor, 21—admitted that while her kids might not be able to help her much with her "DWTS" prep, she's confident the show's pros will step in. “I’m counting on the experts at ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to take on the enormous challenge of getting me ready for this,” the star of Vegas Vacation joked. “It’s way beyond what my kids can handle. They’re going to have to bring out the big guns if they want me to nail those moves!”

Other Celebs Joining the Fun

Christie isn’t the only A-lister ready to shake a leg on the dance floor. Other celebs joining her include Kate Flannery, Karamo Brown, Mary Wilson, and James Van Der Beek. But it seems like not all the stars have their kids' full support. The "Dawson's Creek" alum revealed that his kids were more excited about Karamo being on the show than him. “They were super starstruck when they heard Karamo was joining. They even told me they might vote for him instead of me! My daughter said, ‘Daddy, it’s a dancing competition. I’ll vote for whoever dances better!’” James shared with a laugh.
