Hey there, friends! Let's talk about Tanya Tucker and her bold, pink statement. This year, Tanya dyed her hair pink in a stunning show of solidarity with a friend fighting breast cancer. But guess what? It turns out there’s even more to this story than just supporting her friend.
“My dear friend Shirley Burns is going through chemotherapy for the third time,” the legendary 61-year-old singer confided exclusively to Closer Weekly at the 2019 Country Music Awards in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 11. “It was a spur-of-the-moment decision because the man upstairs knows why I did it, and I think that’s what’s truly important. I wear it for all the women out there who are struggling, not just Shirley.”

Was It a Copycat Move?
Tanya joked around a bit about people possibly thinking she was copying singer Pink, who was at the same star-studded event with her family. “But hey, I’m not copying anyone,” she laughed. “This is for a much deeper cause.”

Even though Tanya’s hair is gradually returning to blonde, some parts are still a faded pink. She first unveiled her new look on Instagram back in mid-January with a playful video captioned “#pinkhairdontcare.”
Lessons Learned in the Spotlight
Now, let’s talk about Tanya’s incredible career as a country music industry rebel since she first hit the scene at the tender age of 13 in 1972. Over the years, she’s picked up some invaluable life lessons. “Always remember that the ground is beneath your feet, and the only real stars are in heaven,” she shared with Closer. “Stay humble, always give your best effort, and never, ever give up.”
