If there’s one thing that Susan Sarandon will always have time for, it’s being a grandmother. And let me tell you, this legendary actress is absolutely head-over-heels for her grandkids. Whether it's playing with them, sharing stories, or simply soaking in their laughter, Susan has found pure joy in this chapter of her life.
At 73 years old, Susan recently made an appearance at the opening night of The Sound Inside on Broadway, where she couldn’t help but gush about her role as a grandma. “Everything!” she exclaimed to Closer Weekly. “Those kids are just incredible, and I’m thrilled because another one is on the way in March! How exciting is that?”
For Susan, being a grandma is more than just a title—it's a calling. She's the proud grandmother to her daughter Eva Amurri Martino’s two children: Marlowe Martino, who's 5 years old, and Major Martino, who's 3. But it doesn’t stop there. Susan is also the mother of two sons, Jack, 30, and Miles, 27, both of whom she shares with Tom Robbins. While her own kids might be all grown up now, Susan cherishes every moment she gets to spend with her grandkids.

Grandma Susan: More Than Just a Role
Let’s dive deeper into what makes Susan Sarandon such a remarkable grandma. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Eva shared a glimpse into their beach day adventure. It was a moment filled with laughter, love, and the kind of joy that only family can bring. Eva described how Major, who recently had his cast removed, stood on his leg for the first time since his injury—and it turns out he’s grown taller too! Can you believe it? It’s moments like these that remind us how quickly time flies, and Susan knows just how precious they are.
View this post on InstagramFirst Summer night at the beach in the books! After a few months of chaos with our move (and construction still underway) gorgeous nights like these remind me of exactly why we made this move. We love living like this! I bathed the kids, put them in PJs, and headed to Compo, where Kyle was playing an @streetfc game. Major stood on his leg for the first time since his cast came off this week…and it turns out he grew about two inches while it was on. Why is he so tall?!! Where is my baby?! Does anybody else have the sensation that time is slipping by so quickly already this summer?? #HappilyEvaAfter #SummerNights #MarloweAndMajor
Spending Quality Time Together
Susan loves spending quality time with Marlowe and Major, and it’s clear that their bond is unbreakable. In 2018, she spoke to Closer Weekly about her grandkids, sharing how much they mean to her. “They are thriving,” she said. “Marlowe is so funny—she’s a fierce little clown and incredibly articulate. And Major? He’s starting to show off his unique personality. They’re truly amazing, and I adore them.”
When asked what they do together, Susan explained, “We just hang out. Marlowe thinks everything is hilarious, and she’s fearless. Major, on the other hand, loves doing people’s hair and cleaning at the moment. Who knows how long that phase will last, but it’s adorable while it does!”

A Memorable Movie Moment
Earlier this year, Susan’s grandkids got to see her in one of her most iconic films, Enchanted. Eva posted an Instagram story announcing the family movie night. “They’re about to watch @SusanLovesJack in Enchanted for the first time,” she wrote. Of course, things took an unexpected turn. “The kids watched it for a bit, then took an hour-long break to play in the next room—until they heard the chaos at the end of the movie and ran back in time to watch their grandma turn into a terrifying dragon… and then die,” Eva added. Naturally, the kids had endless questions afterward, which Susan happily answered.

It’s truly heartwarming to see how much joy and positivity these two little ones bring into Susan’s life. Her love for them shines through in every word she says and every moment they spend together.
