The 21-year-old beauty and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, 33, had been fan favorites since she stepped in for her mom in season 28. But sometimes, even the best journeys must come to an end. Following her elimination, Sailor took to Instagram to share her heartfelt thoughts about her unforgettable time on the show.
“I Was So Not Ready for This Experience to Finish”
“Last night was absolutely heartbreaking,” Sailor wrote in an emotional Instagram post on October 22. “I wasn’t ready for this experience to end so soon, but wow, am I grateful for every single moment I had. Every sweaty rehearsal, every laugh with my amazing friends Mich Dibts and Valentin—it was all so incredible.” She went on to express her deep gratitude for the opportunity to challenge herself and grow both personally and professionally.

The Night Sailor and Val Were Sent Home
On Monday, October 21, Sailor and Val found themselves in the bottom two alongside Ally Brooke and her partner Sasha Farber. Despite receiving three perfect 9s for their final performance, the judges had to make the tough decision to eliminate them from the competition. It was a tough pill to swallow, but Sailor handled it with grace and poise.
“This Experience Changed My Whole Outlook on Life”
In her Instagram caption, Sailor reflected on the incredible journey she had embarked upon. “Doing something every Monday that I never thought I could be capable of—it was such a gift,” she wrote. “Even though I was nervous stepping onto that stage, I’d always look around and think, ‘What is my life?! How blessed am I?!’” Sailor admitted that this experience taught her to confront her fears and embrace challenges head-on. “Each day was a massive learning lesson, a journey in just 24 hours,” she said.
Sailor’s participation in Dancing with the Stars came as a last-minute decision after her mom Christie, 65, suffered a shoulder injury during rehearsals. Despite her initial stage fright, Sailor stepped up and took on the challenge, proving to herself and everyone else that she had what it takes to shine on the big stage. In her emotional post, she thanked her fans for their unwavering support.
“Thank you to everyone for showing me so much love,” Sailor wrote. “And to all my close friends and family for always believing in me and supporting me. Thank you to the entire crew on Dancing with the Stars for their unconditional kindness. To my castmates who quickly became such good friends, thank you for being so kind and supportive—I’ll miss you guys! But I’m so excited to see you all light up that stage on Monday!”
