As Jenna took her seat next to Hoda, it was clear that the two had missed each other. "We haven’t been on the show together but five days!" she exclaimed, adding, "It feels like it’s time!" Both women had been on maternity leave, so their return to the TODAY set was truly a special moment for everyone involved.

Hoda was over the moon to have Jenna back. In fact, she was so excited that she even called Jenna early in the morning to wake her up for the big day. "I called Jenna at 4:45 this morning, just to say, 'It’s time! Wake up!'" Hoda gleefully shared. Jenna appreciated the gesture and took to Instagram to express her excitement about returning to TODAY and working alongside her dear friend Hoda.

Why Jenna Loves Her Job at NBC
In another heartfelt post on Veteran’s Day, Jenna opened up about why she’s so eager to return to work after maternity leave. She explained that leaving her family isn’t always easy, but the supportive environment at NBC makes it worthwhile. "Good morning! Feeling full of gratitude for so much today: Our beautiful country that is free thanks to all of those who serve, my children who woke up at 5 a.m., finding me in the shower saying, 'Mama, we need to give you a hug on your first day at work.' (Not sure how their dad felt about the early wakeup!) And feeling so thankful that I love what I do — this place and the people who I adore — make leaving a darling little man and his sisters so much easier," Jenna wrote.

Jenna’s Growing Family
On Friday, August 2, Jenna welcomed her third child, Henry Harold, affectionately known as "Hal," with her husband Henry Hager. "I have a new baby boy," she joyfully announced on TODAY at the time. "We met our little boy on Friday morning, so maternity leave happened at the perfect time." Jenna and Henry, 41, are also proud parents to daughters Margaret, 6, and Poppy Louise, 4. With Hal in the mix, their family is growing, and so is Jenna’s love for her career at NBC.
