Beating the Odds: Michael J. Fox's Incredible Story
It's been an incredible journey for Michael J. Fox. Almost three decades ago, the legendary actor received a diagnosis that could have derailed his life—Parkinson’s disease. But instead of letting it bring him down, Michael chose to embrace life and prove his doctors wrong. His inspiring resilience has captured the hearts of millions around the world.
During an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly at the annual A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s Gala in New York City, Michael opened up about his journey. "I was only supposed to work for another 10 years," he revealed. "They told me I'd be pretty much disabled by now. But here I am, living proof that predictions don't always define our path." His positivity and determination are nothing short of remarkable.

Michael's Secret to Staying Positive
Michael's zest for life isn't just about defying medical odds; it's about embracing the joys of everyday existence. "I feel great!" he exclaimed during the interview. Michael attributes much of his happiness to his incredible support system, especially his wife, Tracy Pollan. "She's my rock," he joked. "Her biggest challenge isn't dealing with a Parkinson's patient; it's dealing with me!"
Tracy and Michael have been together since 1988, raising a beautiful family of five children—Sam, 30, Esmé, 18, and twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, both 24. Tracy has often spoken fondly of their life together. "I get to live with my best friend," she once gushed. "Someone who makes me laugh, who's fun to be around, and who listens to all my ups and downs."
The Beginning of a Beautiful Love Story
Interestingly, Michael and Tracy's romance didn't start off smoothly. When they first met in 1985 on the set of Family Ties, Tracy wasn't initially impressed by Michael's attitude. "One day, she came back from lunch with bad breath," Michael recalled with a laugh. "I said, 'Whoa, scampi for lunch?' She shot back, 'You are the rudest son of a bitch I've ever met in my life!'" Despite this rocky start, Michael was immediately drawn to Tracy. "I was hooked," he admitted. "I wanted to know more about this woman."

It wasn't until they worked together again in 1988 on Bright Lights, Big City that Michael had the chance to show Tracy his true colors. This time, instead of insulting her, he took her out to lunch, and the rest is history. "I love my family and my work," Michael shared. "I love the opportunities that come my way. That's what happiness is all about. I really love being alive."
