As we step into the brand-new year of 2020, Kelly Osbourne is making it clear that she’s leaving all the drama and negativity of 2019 behind—especially the rumors swirling around her dad, Ozzy Osbourne. Kelly, the daughter of Sharon Osbourne and the legendary rock star, took to Instagram after a fun-filled day with her family to address the ongoing gossip about her dad’s health.
A Day to Remember
Let me tell you, Kelly had an incredible start to 2020. She posted on her Instagram Stories on January 1, sharing, “I had a wonderful start to 2020. I went out to lunch with my family.” And if that wasn’t enough, she added, “Then spent the rest of the day laughing and hanging out with my dad.” Sounds like the perfect way to kick off the new year, right?
Setting the Record Straight
Now, here’s the thing. Kelly was having such a great day until she stumbled across some upsetting articles about her father. She wasn’t holding back when she wrote, “I come home to read sickening articles about my dad supposedly being on his ‘death bed’… sometimes the media makes me sick!!!” Kelly was clearly upset, and who could blame her? She went on to say, “It’s no secret that my dad has had a rough year when it comes to his health, but come the f—k on, this is utter bulls—t.”

Ozzy's Return to the Stage
Now, despite Ozzy staying out of the spotlight for much of 2019, he made a triumphant return to the stage at the 2019 American Music Awards in late November. This was his first performance in over a year, and let me tell you, he looked fantastic. Kelly opened up about her dad’s health struggles on the red carpet before his performance of “Take What You Want From Me” alongside Post Malone and Travis Scott.
She explained, “This collaboration took six months because dad had the accident and had to have surgery. He fractured the spine in his neck.” Besides the neck surgery, Ozzy also faced a string of health issues throughout the year, including pneumonia, a hand infection, the flu, and a few other procedures. But despite all that, Ozzy didn’t let it stop him from delivering an unforgettable performance.
Sharon's Perspective
Sharon, always the supportive wife, couldn’t have been prouder of Ozzy during that performance. She gushed about it on an episode of The Talk, saying, “Oh, it was so good! The show — obviously it was the American Music Awards, so it’s all pop music and pretty little girls coming on one after the other with their little dances. And then suddenly this ugly lot of guys get up there and they nailed it!”

Even though Sharon was beaming with pride, she couldn’t resist throwing in a little humor about the potential for disaster on stage. She joked, “I’m like, ‘Oh, God, Ozzy, please don’t move! Everything has happened except [being] set on fire. Please don’t move!’” And of course, Ozzy being Ozzy, he was moving around, which prompted Sharon to quip, “Of course he’s moving around and I’m like, ‘Oh, God, did we put on hairspray?’”
