Like so many of us, Josh Groban has seen his Christmas traditions evolve over the years. The Grammy-nominated singer behind "You Raise Me Up" shared how his appreciation for the season has deepened as he's matured. As a child, the holidays may have been all about presents and excitement, but now, Josh treasures the simpler, more meaningful aspects of the season.

Josh's Love for the Festive Smell of Christmas

At 38 years old, Josh exclusively opened up to Closer Weekly during New York Stage and Film’s annual winter gala in early December, sharing a delightful holiday tradition inspired by his mom. "My mom, Lindy, absolutely loves Christmas trees," Josh said with a smile. "Even though our house isn't massive, she somehow manages to squeeze two Christmas trees inside. It's like walking into a forest every time we step through the door!"

For Josh, this tradition isn't just about decor—it's about creating a cozy, festive atmosphere that brings warmth to his heart. And it's not just him who enjoys it; his dog also seems to adore the fresh pine scent that fills their home. "It's something that both my dog and I look forward to every year," he added.

A Close-Knit Family: Josh's Special Bond with His Mom and Brother

Growing up in Los Angeles with his dad, Jack—a businessman—and his mom, Lindy—a school teacher—Josh has always cherished his family ties. One particularly unique bond connects Josh with his younger brother, Chris—they share the same birthday, just four years apart. "It's like a double celebration every year," Josh joked, adding a touch of humor to the sweet tradition.

While heading home for the holidays can bring anxiety for some due to potential awkward family moments, Josh seems unfazed. When asked about those pesky questions, like when he plans to get married or start a family, Josh reassured everyone that his mom isn't one to stress him out with such inquiries. "My mom's pretty laid-back!" he exclaimed. "As long as I don't find coal in my stocking, I'm good!"

    Josh's Long-Standing Connection to Christmas

Josh's connection to the festive season isn't limited to personal traditions. Back in 2002, he performed at the Vatican in Rome alongside other renowned artists, and in 2007, he released a Christmas album titled Noël, which became one of the top-selling albums that year. Clearly, the holidays hold a special place in his heart both personally and professionally.

When it comes to gifts, Josh has a soft spot for homemade presents. "I absolutely adore homemade gifts," he joked to Closer Weekly in 2
