Even though she's already married herself, Ellen DeGeneres just can't seem to stop thinking about weddings—especially the one involving Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. When Blake stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show on December 12, 2019, the beloved host couldn't resist the opportunity to gently nudge him toward finally proposing to his long-term love, Gwen.
Ellen's Clock Reminder
Ellen, who is known for her sharp wit and humor, playfully reminded Blake about a clock she had gifted him earlier. "I gave you a clock. Remember that clock? To remind you time is ticking," the 61-year-old host joked, referencing the clock she gave Blake during a previous visit to her show. The screen behind Ellen and her guest displayed a picture of Blake holding the clock, which featured a sweet photo of him and Gwen, 50, sharing a kiss. It was clear that Ellen wasn't letting Blake off the hook anytime soon.
Blake's Response to Ellen's Teasing
Blake, known for his laid-back demeanor and humor, playfully argued that he never actually received the clock Ellen mentioned. "You didn't give it to me!" he explained, recalling how someone backstage took the clock after his appearance. "I walked backstage and somebody back there was like, 'Hey, thanks for being on the show. Can I have that?' And they took it. So I haven't seen it. Time didn't really start ticking at that moment," he joked. Blake even added that Ellen reused the same trick on Jennifer Lopez, who later became engaged. "You gave her my clock!" Blake hilariously joked back. "I knew it!"

Gwen's Potential Role on the Show
Ellen cleverly brought up the engagement topic again when she asked Blake if he'd ever consider guest hosting her talk show. "You could have Gwen on. You could have anybody on," she suggested, teasingly adding, "You could propose to her here." Blake, who is the proud stepdad of Gwen's three sons, humorously agreed. "I could. You're right," he quipped. "I'll save that for you and this show." It was clear that Blake was having fun with the whole situation and wasn't taking the pressure too seriously.
