The holiday season is all about family, love, and creating lasting memories. And for actress Beverley Mitchell, it’s no different. She recently opened up about her cherished traditions with her two kids, Hutton and Kenzie, sharing how they make every Christmas morning magical.
A Christmas Morning to Remember
“Every Christmas morning is just filled with excitement and wonder,” Beverley, 38, shared with Closer Weekly and other reporters during the Disney On Ice Holiday Skating Party. “It’s a time of pure magic, where everything feels so special and unique. From the moment the kids wake up, you can feel the energy in the air.”
Beverley went on to describe her family’s unique tradition of making their kids wait until 11 a.m. to go downstairs and open gifts. “We all stay in our PJs, enjoying that cozy family time. We tell them that patience is a virtue, and they need to practice it. It’s all about building anticipation and making the moment even more special when they finally get to see what’s under the tree.”

Family Adventures and Quality Time

This year, Beverley and her family have some exciting plans. “We’re heading to the mountains for a little skiing adventure. It’s all about spending quality time together as a family and enjoying the fresh air,” she revealed. “It’s not just about the gifts; it’s about creating experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.”
Less Gifts, More Experiences
Beverley admitted that she used to go overboard with presents, but now she’s learned to prioritize experiences over material things. “In the past, I would get carried away with buying too many gifts. But now, I’ve realized that it’s more important to focus on creating meaningful experiences for my kids,” she explained.
“Instead of giving them endless toys, we plan trips to the zoo, aquariums, or other fun places. We want them to appreciate the joy of spending time together as a family rather than accumulating more stuff. Recently, we even took a trip to Hawaii, which was an unforgettable experience for all of us.”

Beverley’s approach to parenting is all about balance and intentionality. “It’s not about spoiling them with endless gifts. It’s about teaching them the value of experiences and creating memories they’ll cherish forever,” she said.
Celebrating Special Moments
Beverley also shared how she celebrated her daughter Kenzie’s birthday with a unique outdoor party. “It was amazing! Both the kids and the adults loved it. We had a beautiful day outside, which made it extra special. It wasn’t your typical kids’ party, and I think that’s what made it so memorable,” she told Closer Weekly.
For Beverley, the holidays and special occasions are all about family, love, and creating moments that will be remembered for years to come. Her approach to parenting and celebrating life is a testament to her commitment to raising happy, well-rounded children who appreciate the simple joys in life.
