Arnold Schwarzenegger Reflects on His Son's Acting Journey
Let me tell you something: when you’ve been around as long as Arnold Schwarzenegger has, you think you’ve seen it all. But even the Terminator himself was caught off guard recently when his son Patrick took things to a whole new level in his latest movie. The 72-year-old action legend was chatting with Fox LA and couldn’t help but laugh about the unexpected twist in Patrick's role in Daniel Isn’t Real.
Arnold recalled, "His acting was so extraordinary, so talented. And then, all of a sudden, there's this sex scene. It was wild!" He went on to explain that his ex-wife, Maria Shiver, gave him a heads-up about the scene, making sure he was prepared for what he was about to see. That’s one way to break the news, right?
Arnold Shares a Funny Story About the Moment He Found Out
Arnold shared a funny anecdote about how Maria broke the news to him. "I remember my ex-wife called me that day. She said, 'I just saw Patrick's movie. It's unbelievable, and I'm sitting there, and he didn’t tell me anything about it, and all of a sudden, there's his naked butt having a sex scene.'” He laughed as he continued, "It’s really an experience and a half. But I’m just proud because he’s doing another movie. He’s really working his way up and getting the starring roles."

Arnold Receives Praise for His Son’s Performance
The legendary movie star didn’t stop there. He also shared how proud he was of the feedback Patrick was receiving. "Everyone came up to me telling me, 'You have the nicest son. He’s so well-behaved, he’s coming in so well-prepared all the time.' All these compliments, all the time — it’s great to see that," Arnold said. It’s clear that Patrick is following in his dad’s footsteps, and Arnold couldn’t be more thrilled.
Apart from Patrick, Arnold shares three more children with his ex-wife Maria Shiver: daughters Katherine, 30, and Christina, 28, and son Christopher, 22. The bodybuilding icon also has a son, Joseph, with his previous partner. It’s a big family, and Arnold is nothing if not proud of each and every one of them.
A Father’s Pride: Arnold and Patrick’s Close Bond
This isn’t the first time Arnold has spoken fondly of his son. In an interview with GQ Germany, he touched on the special bond they share. "We have a great father-son relationship, and we also have a great friendship," Arnold said. "My vision was to create great kids, and I believe I’ve done just that."

Arnold added, "What I’m proud of is that I could kind of show him the way and he knew that he has all the help in the world from me all the time, but that he had to do the work also." It’s a testament to their strong relationship and the values Arnold has instilled in his children.
