Hillsborough Kids Case Worker Complaint
Case Worker: Anne Marie Johnson
Agency: Hillsborough Kids Inc / One Hope United
Overall rating: Fiasco
I have had extensive dealings with HKI case worker Anne Marie Johnson over the past six month of Hillsborough Kids Inc. (which now is One Hope United). HKI case worker Anne Johnson was assigned to my case after a Florida CPI worker, Allison Kanter turned the case over to her after the initial investigation of an alleged child abuse case that was reported against me via the Florida abuse hotline.
My dealings with case work Anne Johnson of Hillsborough Kids have been absolutely horrendous. From the day Ms. Johnson was assigned to my case I have had nothing but problems and virtually no communication from her. Time and time again I would call her personal number that she provided me which was her work cell phone number (813) 310-1138 only to reach her voice mailbox and leave a message IF I was lucky enough that her voice mail was not full which was about 99.4% of the time it was full and I could not leave a message for her.
After weeks of the futile attempts of trying to reach Anne Johnson I called the Hillsborough Kids main number and spoke with the receptionist and explained my issue of trying to reach her. At that time I was provided her immediate supervisors number which I called and also was stricken with yet again another voicemail. I left brief message for Anne Marie Johnson’s supervisor (Aleida Rivera-Ruiz) Stating that I had been trying to contact one of her case workers and that I was not getting any response.
Once again, a week went by after leaving 3 voicemails for Ms. Johnson’s supervisor with no response at which point I searched Google for Hillsborough Kids Inc website and found some people that were higher on the totem pole so to speak. After placing a call to the regional director of Hillsborough Kids and spoke with the director and explained my displacement I was assured that I would receive a phone call from my case manger within the next 24 hours.
72 Hours has passed by and I have yet to receive a return call from either the HKI case worker, supervisor, or director of Hillsborough Kids at which time I placed again another call to the director and reached him and explained I had not been contacted by the worker and asked him what does it take to get in touch with this case worker short of filing a formal complaint with the State of Florida? I was told I would be getting a call shortly within the next 15 minutes and as promised this time around I did in fact get a call from the case worker Anne Johnson along with the HKI director on 3 way conversion via telephone.
My first reply was thank you to the director for placing me in touch with the case worker followed swiftly with asking Ms. Johnson why she has not been returning my calls after leaving in excess over 15 voicemails from myself with about 50 calls total (including reaching a full voicemail box), plus not to mention returning calls from my Lawyer which left a total of 2 voicemails over 10 calls placed to her.
HKI Case worker Ms. Johnson acknowledged had received my calls plus voicemails however she just had not got around to returning my calls due to claims she was awaiting information from a 3rd party regarding my case before returning my calls.
After this conversation I was assured the case worker would keep “better” communication with me and keep me updated to all the case events, hearings, etc. Well, needless to say none of this ever happened. Another thing about Hillsborough Kids case worker Anne Marie Johnson is that she filed documents without doing her homework. Ms. Johnson would make claims to the Judge, Department of Revenue that I was not paying child support during this time of this pending case when in fact I was making payments and provided the payment numbers to her. Even worse, Case worker Anne Marie Johnson would log visits with my daughter but never could provide any date or time of when her supposed visits took place. When questioned by myself and Lawyer in court she would just reply “I don’t have that information in front of me at this time”. In the States Motion of Discovery against myself all her reports were copied paragraph by paragraph that ended up creating around 87 pages with 90% of the 87 pages being duplicate filler content copied and pasted. Months later at one of my twelve plus court hearings for the charges the State of Florida had brought against me based on a sole phone call of allegations I had my lawyer address the Judge about the lack of communication and non-compliance with the case worker and when the Judge questioned the case worker she had no objection or response to the claims.
Towards the end of the hearing the Judge ordered that the HKI case worker was to maintain communication with me and keep me updated of any and all information regarding the case. Two weeks after the hearing I was still having no communication with the HKI case worker and filed a formal complaint and four days later another case worker took over my case and I am still having the same issues.
When I did get ahold of the current case worker that had been assigned to my case I asked as to why the abrupt change in case workers and she simply replied that Anne Marie Johnson is now a lead case manager and they were trying to delegate her current case load.
If you are unfortunate enough to have this case worker here is all her current information.

To the goof ball that made the last comment-people end up in these situations for all sorts of reasons...a spouse out to discredit them, a misunderstood problem, incompetent attorney and even error form the state. If a woman or family is in this situation that is horrible, for every one BUT the system should not make things worse. Prayers for every family in this situation. Put into the mix agencies and other professions making money off these problems and YOU HAE A TRUE DISASTER. VERY VERY SAD. -
If you did not have an open case, you would not have to have a horrendous casewroker in the first place. Since you are posting somebody's business why don't you tell us why you have a case worker! What did you do! I am sure she has some things to say about you too! I hope she sues you!
